My induction to the wonderful world of sport dogs (Beagles) came when I was 12 years old. My grandfather, Mr. Fred Lynn of Tampa, Florida, kept and raised a pack of beagles for a hunt club he had in Ocala, Florida to run deer with. My (Wyatt Urp) uncle Don of Tampa, Florida also would run those dirt roads with those big palmetto swamp buggies to cut the deer off in front of those screaming barn burning beagles. Well, that first hunt the only thing that I remember was my grand daddy walking behind them beagles hollering "find 'em Jim", "hunt ole girl", "speak to me July", "get him out of here Sambo". Then it happened, they hit a hot deer trail and the canine choir began to pour the mouth with every breath (there ain't nothin' like it). I would like to pause right here and thank God for my grand daddy who is in Heaven right now, and to my Uncle Don for giving me as a young boy the great love for beagles that I have today and hope to one day pass on to my sons, Griffith and Sons (G&S), Nathan, Jared, Jeremy, and Brandon.
